Jake’s particular interests lie in curriculum excellence, assessment theory and design, organisational improvement, and the effective use of evidence to improve teaching and learning. He is passionate about supporting schools and leaders to create ambitious educational experiences that enable every young person to succeed and brings this to his role as Chair of the Academy Council at Fortis Academy.

Nigel Butler | Kidsgrove Secondary School
Both Nigel’s daughter and son were educated at the Kidsgrove Secondary School. In his role as Chair, he is a strong advocate for equity in education. A great believer that all our young people deserve the best possible safe educational outcomes. He also shares his knowledge and experience as a member of the Kidsgrove Primary School Academy Council.

In her role as Chair of Woodhey High School Academy Council, Gill has supported significant school improvement. She brings a strong combination of professional, academic, and governance experience, and is committed to contributing to the continued success of Woodhey High School and The Shaw Education Trust.
