The development of Community Junction will provide a safe and accessible space for local families to gather, thus creating an environment for people to build supportive relationships.
In accessing this space, staffed by students with learning disabilities, people will also be able to further their understanding of the capabilities of these students.
Finally, with the café and shop being open to the public it provides Alice Charity its first opportunity to generate much needed funds which will be fed back into the charity, enabling their wonderful work, supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged families to continue.
Learners work in a variety of job roles, building confidence and resilience, developing communication skills and supporting them to work towards their individualised targets. Additionally, the job roles support learners in developing their knowledge of maintaining work standards and working to good practice.
