Results day saw success for Madeley School, with grades remaining strong.
Students’ performance in English and mathematics was impressive, with over 74% of students gaining a grade 4+ in the combined basics, while science reached similar lofty figures.
The academy, which is part of Shaw Education Trust, exceeded targets in numerous subjects including modern foreign languages, PE and English Literature, and saw an overall improvement in results for disadvantaged pupils, most noticeably in the Ebacc.
Lee Nixon, Principal at Madeley School, commented: “We are extremely proud of all our students and it is great to see that the outcomes of disadvantaged pupils has increased significantly.”
The innovative academy had numerous pupils with exceptional individual results. One high-achiever, Esme, astounded classmates by achieving grade 9 in every subject. The local pupil is one of only a very small number to have done this nationally, making the celebrations even greater at Madeley.
The excellent results stand as a testament to all the hard work students and staff have put in throughout their time at Madeley.
